Our Story: A Legacy of Local Fishing Knowledge in the Florida Keys

When you book a fishing trip in Marathon, Florida Keys with All Keys Charters, you’re not just going out on the water - you’re stepping into a rich, family tradition that spans generations. Captain Michael Schofield is a third-generation fishing captain and a proud Florida “Conch”, born and raised right here in the Keys.

Captain Mike’s deep-rooted connection to these waters began long before he took the helm. His family originally came to the Florida Keys from England and founded the historic Valhalla Beach Hotel, which once backed up to the now locally known Valhalla Sandbar. While the hotel is no longer there, the sandbar remains a favorite local landmark - a symbol of the Schofield family’s enduring legacy.

Mike’s father, a lifelong commercial fisherman, spent his career running lobster and crap traps throughout the Keys. From a young age, Mike was right there beside him, learning the ropes, managing thousands of traps, and developing a true respect for the ocean and the fishing industry. That early experience paved the way for a life on the water. He’s been fishing these waters for over 20 years and has held his captain’s license since 2012.

After a major storm impacted the family business, Captain Mike launched All Keys Charters with a mission: to share his passion for fishing and the Florida Keys with others. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or brand new to fishing, you’ll benefit from the expertise of a true local fishing guide in Marathon.

What sets All Keys Charters apart from the rest?
